About Elements Therapy

I use an integrative, holistic play therapy approach, blending together therapeutic theories and techniques to meet the unique, individual needs of the children I work with.

I am attachment aware and trauma informed. I also draw on neuroscientific theories and models to inform my practice.

I have worked with children for over 20 years. Before I began my career as a therapist, I worked as a primary school teacher for 11 years and as a Primary School Special Educational Needs Coordinator for 6 years.

I have a private therapy room in the centre of Exmouth, which has a wide range of resources and plenty of space for creative exploration.

My therapy room is located in The Business and Wellbeing Centre, 14 Hartley Road, Exmouth.

It is within easy walking distance from the train station and bus routes.

Parking in the street is free and it is usually possible to find a space nearby.

Although I work mainly from this therapy room, I will also travel to schools in the local area if required.

Testimonials

  • Play Therapy

Sarah provides an excellent Play Therapy service. Her extensive knowledge of therapeutic approaches accompanied with her experience in SEND has been invaluable to us when supporting children with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

She co-produces outcomes with the team around the child to ensure the child's needs are put first. The children love attending sessions with her and benefit from the results. Sarah also provides recommendations for our staff so that they are able to best support the child after therapy sessions conclude.

  • Therapeutic Play

My daughter is thriving at school now- there is such a difference since she started therapeutic play sessions. Her confidence has improved and she is able to say how she is feeling.

The discussions I have had with Sarah have been invaluable, as I feel able to respond to her needs more effectively. This has helped our relationship become stronger.

Seeing her grow and make such excellent progress has helped me grow in confidence too. I can’t thank Sarah enough for the support she has given us.

  • Therapeutic Play

After immigrating, our 5 year old daughter was really struggling to cope through all the changes and ended up with so much anxiety around day to day life. We started sessions with Sarah to see if we could help her process through everything, and WOW, what a difference the play therapy made. Our little girl absolutely loved seeing Sarah weekly and looked so forward to each session. After 12 sessions, we now have a much happier child who is coping well with school and expressing her emotions. We are really grateful to Sarah for offering a safe, welcoming space and for helping our daughter through a challenging time.

“The more healthy relationships a child has, the more likely they will be to recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love.”
